Day 50 – The Pop-up Politics drives me Crazy

Sorry for missing the update of the progress on my work pledge since last month, it was a tough time for many people living in Hong Kong, including me.

Though politics is never my cup of tea, the #occupycentral activity undergoing here do have a great impact to our daily work routine.  If you have not heard about what’s going on here in Hong Kong, have a look at the CNN news here:

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/29/opinion/piekos-occupy-hong-kong/index.html

Politic is always a game of manipulation, and same as in the corporate politics.  One thing I dislike last month is, I lost a 5 figure potential business deal, just because of a corporate policy changed on my client’s side, that forced him to stop the project completely! We have been in discussion for over 2 months. It is really ashamed and I was so disappointed and stressful. We have spent so much effort there!

Results vs Target

Here comes the end of my 50 days and here is the result. I overshoot all the followers target, but seems have a difficulty in growing the email list.

Seems the existing magnet is not attractive anymore? I have decided to change a bit.

1. Executive-Lifestyles.com – who does not love to have free feature? I offer my time to interview great entrepreneurs here!  http://bit.ly/1oldvKa

(I’m sending out such invitation over the 43 social media networks that I have connection with via Hootsuite)

2. Styling website Fiesta-Valentine.com:  Found a great post on Facebook sharing a variety of ways of turning your scraf into dresses, clothes, different styles!  haha… seems that’s what my members love to see. Gained 820 people views versus a normal 20+ in the past!   Okok… Will find more similar interesting post to share and add a Call to Action – Get a Free Styling Magazine here -> http://bit.ly/1n1Dy7C

3. Wedding website:  Elegant-Wedding-Ideas.com.  People love this lead magnet, but once the FB advertising stops, same for the sign up.  How??

Tips and Tools learnt:

1. Interesting Content!

I haven’t had such a great response on my styling page on Facebook for a long time…. It’s time to do a bit more research to get the interesting content for my fans!  Trial and Error – does work!
